The BEA ELIX is an intelligent microwave motion sensor for controlling automatic doors. Using 60 GHz FMCW technology (MoWa Inside), the sensor detects the direction of movement and walking speed of people and takes their intention to pass through the door into account when triggering door opening.
Dynamic adaptation to different pedestrian flows enables demand-based door control. Cross traffic and people without the intention to pass through can be filtered out, reducing unnecessary door openings and associated energy losses.
The ELIX features individually configurable detection zones, allowing specific areas such as waiting zones to be excluded. The sensor is also designed for demanding environments with metallic surfaces or high pedestrian traffic.
Configuration is carried out via the ELIX app, which provides step-by-step guidance, real-time visualization of the detection field and direct adjustment of sensor parameters. No mechanical fine-tuning is required.
Thanks to flexible mounting options, the sensor can be positioned on the left, right or in the center. For double-leaf doors, a single ELIX installed on the opening side can replace two conventionally positioned sensors.

The BEA ELIX is suitable for automatic door systems in entrance areas with varying pedestrian traffic, particularly in shopping streets, access control passages and corridors. Direction- and speed-dependent motion detection enables targeted door opening when a person actually intends to pass through, reducing false activations caused by people walking past.
